Hello

I have activated the Pushover notifications for incoming mail and they do work, but I haven’t found a way to include for example the mail sender and the mail subject in the notification, is that possible?

If not, is it possible to call an external script to do the notification (with all the relevant information)? I use a Telegram bot for my usual server notifications, so a simple http call would be enough to trigger the bot.

Please read the configuration window properly, it shows you which variables you can use.

    Yes indeed, my bad, perfect.
I assume that that’s the only supported way to send notifications?

There are thousand different ways, e.g. BCC’ing mails to a Mail-to-SMS Gateway. However that happens then outside of mailcow.

My question was of course about something in Mailcow, ideally some kind of webhook or other http(s) call. Every additional intermediary is not going to make things more robust ;-)
      Thanks.

Is IMAP IDLE or ActiveSync not already enough notification? With that you don’t need any intermediary

        It depends.

Apple Mail on iOS does not support IMAP IDLE.
It does work well with Apple Mail on macOS, and with Thunderbird, so no problems on that platform.

We use M365 at work, and there we got the message that ActiveSync is deprecated, so I did not investigate this further. But if you are confident that this will continue to be supported I will look into this.

          But it supports ActiveSync

Outlook Desktop should still support it (if you configure it via Control Panel), and their deprecation notice tells customers to switch to MAPI or IMAP. IMAP idle is supported by Outlook Desktop.

          5 days later

Just for the record, I have been able to use ActiveSync on the iPhone and it does work well. Notifications come slightly later than those over PushOver, but we’re talking seconds here.

Thanks for the help @esackbauer. I’ve migrated all my email accounts to a self-hosted Mailcow instance (on arm64) and I appreciate your support.
