Clients working for 1 day

Hello, I’ve installed mailcow on my server and everything is working good. I can access SoGo but I would like to add my account on Mailspring or Windows Mails. When I try to add my account to one of these clients, it works, I can receive and send mails but on the nex day, It don’t work anymore. I don’t know how to solve this, please help!

Can you elaborate a bit more on “don’t work anymore”? What doesn’t work anymore? Can you send? Can you receive? Is an error shown in the client? Is an error shown in the logs, e.g. SoGO?

On my client I have “authentification failed” or someting like this.

I can see several IP addresses. So which one of these screenshots shows an authentication attempt from your client device?

If the 185. address is you, Fail2Ban is banning you. You probably have a client incorrectly configured (username/password).

tbrummell Username and password are correct. I’ve tried multiple times.

Well, is the 185.142.x.x address you? If yes, a client is mis-configured or just doesn’t behave the way Mailcow wants and it’s banning you. If that is your address, whitelist it and see if the issue goes away.

tbrummell No, my pc isn’t 185.xxx neither my server. Maybe it is the adress of the client i’m using. But It doesn’t work on Windows Mail too.

Well… It is finally working. I’ve whitelisted the IP adress that was visible in the Netfilter logs. And for Windows Mail, I was registering my mail account the wrong way. thx to @tbrummell
