Hi, i am pretty new to Mailcow and deeply impressed how complete the whole package is! Even an updatescrupt is included. The Question i am having now is more general: 1. How do you use the updatescript: automatically via cron? daily? Monthly? Is it a good idea to automatically do that? or should i be focussed on what is updated to ensure a running mailcow system? (i guess i would not be able to spot an update wich could break the system...) 2. if u use it per Cron, how does your cronjob look like? Cheers and thank you so much for ideas!

Don’t do automatic updates,… you can set up a cronjob to check for updates (./update.sh –check), but merge them manually. Otherwise you won’t be able to react to errors or merge conflicts or stuff like that. Also you can watch https://mailcow.email/ for important updates.

Hi, how often would you upgrade mailcow? As far as i see it now there is almost daily an update available - wich updateds without any trouble (so far).

That’s up to you, only make sure to do it regularly. I do it like once a week, or whenever I’m in the mood. Or wait for the news on mailcow.email with the summary of changes and added features. You may also join the telegram group for fast notifications about critical security updates and stuff.

heavygale It would be useful to have a Telegram group just for announcements (since the chat group is pretty busy with questions), but I guess that’s what the news on mailcow.email is for?
