Hi there,
Hopefully, somebody will be able to help with this matter. Be forgiving, I just start the mailcow adventure!
So the story : in my homelab, I’ve installed for many years an Exchange server.
As I’m trying to get away from MS and Exchange 2019 is EOL anyway, I tried looking for an open source alternative that would provide me 2 things:
- an email archive for the emails I want to keep
- one or 2 mailboxes for internal alerting
This system is not meant to be online so it only handles emails for a “.local” domain.
My setup is already working fine and I have several systems sending emails with secure SMTP+auth to my alerting mailbox but I struggle to configure SMTP for legacy systems that can only send emails on unsecure SMTP and/or without authentification (like Wazuh, my UPS, etc…)
Is there any way to have an SMTP IP whitelist like on a MS Exchange connector?
I would really like to have an IP white list “only” and not open the unsecure SMTP for all IPs, despite it is a dedicated VLAN.
This is also my way to learn how to configure things as secure as possible.
So how do we do that (hopefully we can)?
Thanks in advance 😉
