Mails not loading for address from old server

I moved servers and backed up vmail, mysql and crypt and restored that in this installation. Mails are arriving as they should but my mail address which I used before doesn’t load the mails. They’re just stuck in the loading skeleton state (see image). The counter is acurate though and does increase if I send myself a new email, but the new emails also don’t show up. For a new address though it does work as it should. How can I fix this?

Try those commands (replace the example with the affected mailbox of yours)

docker compose exec dovecot-mailcow doveadm force-resync -u restoreme@example.net '*'
docker compose exec dovecot-mailcow doveadm quota recalc -u restoreme@example.net

DocFraggle that didn’t work sadly. Weirdly enough I can see the emails fine in samsung mail on my phone using imap. It’s just in sogo that it doesn’t show them. Also new mails I’ve moved to junk on my phone do show up in sogo when I go to the junk folder.

When I open my inbox in sogo I see a lot of errors pop up in the dovecot logs like this:

But since it works fine on my phone using samsung mail I don’t quite understand how this could happen. I thought the decryption keys were stored server side. Any idea how to fix sogo?

You wrote that you moved the crypt volume as well. Did this work? Or maybe was the crypt key regenerated on your new server? You can check if the files from your old and new installation match or if they are different

DocFraggle Yeah they match. I don’t have access to the old system anymore but the crypt key in the backup seems to be the same as the crypt key I get back when I make a new backup. Also if they didn’t match the mails wouldn’t show up on my phone either right?

Yeah that’s right… did you use the mailcow accept to restore or did you do that manually? Maybe you got the owner/permissions of the file wrong so that some containers can’t read it?

DocFraggle I used ./helper-scripts/backup_and_restore.sh. And maybe? The backup was in my user directory so if the helper script didn’t change the permissions that could have happened. I’ll check for you
