Disable hostname for GUI

Dear all,

Is there any way to disable the hostname for the web UI? I would like it to only redirect to the webmail URL for the GUI.

I would only webmail.example.com for gui

I can’t test it myself because I don’t use SoGo, and I don’t know how it behaves since this change : https://mailcow.email/posts/2025/nightly-progress/#sogo-login

Also, you haven’t told us what the actual reason is for wanting to use a different subdomain for webmail. It can’t be to reduce the number of characters you have to type. After all, webmail is longer than mail. 😉

Either way, I would guess that the Mailcow UI still needs to be accessible, since SoGo now uses the Mailcow login for authentication following the change I mentioned above.

I already setup the custom site, but i would disable mail site, I would setup Cloudflare proxy in front of webmail, I cannot setup for mail

Not an expert, but I don’t think that’s actually possible, or at least not without using an external authentication provider, because as I mentioned, SOGo redirects to the Mailcow login for authentication.

I mean, there are Cloudflare Enterprise plans that can also proxy SMTP and IMAP, in which case you could just use mail for everything, but I’d guess those plans aren’t exactly cheap. 😉

So, not really sure, except that maybe you could just not use Cloudflare at all!? 😉

…or maybe others here have some more ideas.
