mailcow update [HOW TO]

Hi everyone,

I received a notification about a Mailcow update, but I’m not sure how to properly perform the update. I’m still learning, and I want to make sure I don’t break anything in the process.

Could someone please guide me or point me to the correct documentation or steps to update Mailcow safely?

Update

Automatic update¶

An update script in your mailcow-dockerized directory will take care of updates.

Run the update script:

./update.sh

If it needs to, it will ask you how you wish to proceed. Merge errors will be reported. Some minor conflicts will be auto-corrected (in favour for the mailcow-dockerized repository code).

it needs to be run in that folder where the script is located (the dot indicates that)
Typically that is the folder where you installed mailcow e.g. /opt/mailcow-dockerized
You must perform this as root user.
