adding lot's of Aliases causing RED ERROR MESSAGE 'ARRAY'

Hello @all,
i want to migrate my old my old mailserver to mailcow.
So far i’m up and running well.
Now i would like to add my aliases to my one mailbox.

The issue is, i have several hundred of mail aliases, but even if i try to import / add them by let’s say blocks of 50’s, the is a point i only get RED ERROR MESSAGE saying ‘ARRAY’

what ca i do?
Is there an other way to handle around 700 Aliases to my one an only mailbox within Mailcow?

Why would anyone want 700 email aliases?

Why not using a catchall address/alias (“@yourdomain.com” -> “mailbox@yourdomain.com”)?
Or sub addressing?

Any way, use API and create simple loop over your database,…

PS: read this, user have 20 times more aliases yes.., just be aware,..

In that thread they have 7000 mailboxes and 14000 aliases, so 2 aliases per user on average.
Thats something else than having only 1 mailbox and 700 aliases 😉

Yes, I just wanted to point out that if the numbers get out of control, it can slow things down.

Anyway, since you mentioned catchall aliases, can they be used for domains, also?. Let’s say if one wanted to follow RFC (for example 822), one should have postmaster@* or/and webmaster@, abuse@,…

Theoretically yes: Use a database-backed alias map in Postfix, and include entries like postmaster@* and abuse@* that map to your chosen mailbox.

Add a row with address = ‘postmaster@*’ and set the destination. Configure your Postfix virtual_alias_maps to use a SQL query that checks the wildcard domain.

However I never done this…
