Hi,
I’ve been trying to configure Outlook for my mailcow account, but I can’t seem to get it to work correctly.
I need my Inbox and two calendars (Private and Appointments), but I also want to add a shared calendar from another person on the domain.
First I tried to add it via IMAP, where calendar and contacts aren’t synced at all (I know this is normal). I tried adding it via “Outlook CalDAV Synchronizer” as outlined in the docs here:
docs.mailcow.email Icon Microsoft Outlook - mailcow: dockerized documentation

But I can’t figure out how to add multiple calendars, or if this is just not an option, as the docs explicitly say “. Do not assign multiple calendars”.
I also tried using Exchange ActiveSync by enabling it for my version of Outlook through a Registry flag, which initially worked well, I can see all my calendars and the mailbox works, but then somehow one recurring event in particular started showing up exclusively in Outlook and not on other devices anymore.
Anyway, I wanted to open a shared calendar from another person on my server, but the Global Address List is not connected. I tried adding my Server to Address Books manually but that does nothing. I have my account contacts, though.
Entering the SOGo calendar URL manually when adding an internet doesn’t work, no matter if CalDAV or ICS, neither does entering the mail address when opening a shared calendar.

I’m using Outlook for Microsoft 365 Version 2501 Build 16.0.18429.20132 Click-to-Run on Windows 10

  • I figured it out!
Seems like in the SOGo web interface, there is a separate flag in the properties called “Synchronize (Microsoft Enterprise ActiveSync)” that needs to be set for each calendar you subscribe to. Then they show up via EAS in Outlook.

I just noticed the Global Address List still isn’t connected and I can’t invite people. I can’t seem to un-answer my post though.

I recently found in the Microsoft Outlook information, things are working poorly, and ActiveSync is unreliable. Which is what I’ve been experiencing - oddball conflicts and weird behavior. We’ve switched to the eM client, and multiple calendars are supported; smooth business grade interface. My recommendation is to NOT use Outlook.
