Sieve fileinto not working on directory with accent

Hello everywhere,

I am running into an issue with Sieve and directory file.
I am doing a simple fileinto but my directory has accent and I have an error :

dovecot: lmtp(user@domain.com)<553937><wPmkCqPbRmfRcwgAtdzxEA>: Error: sieve: msgid=<XXXX@mail.domain.com>: fileinto action: failed to store into mailbox 'Mes activités': Mailbox doesn't exist: Mes activités#015

My Sieve code seems ok :

require "fileinto";
require "imap4flags";

if header :is "Tag" "activite" {
  setflag "\\seen";
  fileinto "Mes activités";
}

Does someone already have the same issue or know how I can make it working ?

Probably you need to encode the folder name in UTF-8

Hi,

I tried a few things but still can not make it work.

Initial try :
fileinto "Mes activités";

Tried also with :

fileinto "Mes activit+AOk-s";
fileinto "Mes activit&AOk-s";
fileinto "Mes activit${unicode:E9}s";

Nothing work 🙁

Did you create the filter via SoGo or did you create the sieve filter yourself?

DocFraggle Folders were created by imapsync during the migration from the old (Zimbra) server

I was talking about the filter, not the folder

DocFraggle Oops sorry. Filter is made by hand in MailCow filters page.
I don’t have SoGo installed on this server.

What a pity… You could see how SOGo would create the sieve filter.
What is the point in using mailcow without SOGo? There are other solutions which are more compact without SOGo, like mailu or docker-mailserver.

esackbauer [off topic] Sure. SoGo was used at first but the solution was not retained by the users and we now use RoundCube (we tuned our MailCow server and its working fine).

Because I’m a kind person I created a folder “Mes activités” in a test mailbox and let SoGo create the sieve filter. See attachment

Looks like it was saved plain as “Mes activités”

It’s weird because all the other rules I have based on non-accent folder working fine without the “INBOX/”

Did you try if the filter actually works? If not it seems a problem with dovecot.

esackbauer Yes all the other rules working fine, just the fileinto with accent are returning error

esackbauer yes, it works, tested it. Here’s another file with the folder at the root (works, too)

Do you know where MailCow save the filters made in the administration?

Replace your.domain and username

Ah sorry, that’s the sogo sieve file

The global ones are found in

/var/lib/docker/volumes/mailcowdockerized_vmail-vol-1/_data/sieve/

DocFraggle Nothing on my side, maybe it is the SoGo ones.

And for the second path, there are only the global one.
Can not find where are the others.

EDIT : Find them, they are taken on MariaDB directly
