Under System -> Configuration -> Options -> Fail2ban parameters I see there is a “See a list of banned IPs below: network (remaining ban time) - [actions].”

Followed by a URL like this

Am I correct to assume that I could simply open this URL and see which IP, its remaining ban time, available actions without logging into mailcow UI?

I tried without logging in, and it says I am unauthorized. Even after I had logged in as admin, it still says I am unauthorized.

  • So, what is its function?
  • And what configuration that I need to make to correct that error?

  • For using this url you need to check “Manage Fail2Ban externally”. It’s intended as “export” of banned ips for example if you use firewall on the edge of your network, so you can stop bad actors early.
