  • Domain wide footer works from Sogo but is not applied when sending using client

Does anyone else have this issue?

I added a domain-wide footer and it works fine when sending an email using SOGO webmail.

However the footer is not applied when I send from MacOS or iOS (ie when using IMAP). I tried with Thunderbird on MacOS and that does not work either.

I have the latest stable version of MailCow installed.

The only non-standard thing I can think of is that I have an SMTP relay setup (Amazon SES) - but again Sogo works as expected, it’s only the clients that fail.

  • And one more test. Up till now I had only added a ‘html’ version of the domain wide footer. As soon as I added a plain text option as well - the domain wide footer attached. For all clients.

So I’ve got what I wanted, but only by trial and error.

Update on this. I had time to check with and without using the smtp relay. Both situations result in mail sent from an email client NOT containing the domain wide footer. While mail sent from Sogo webmail works as expected (domain wide footer attaches).

I did not have a user specific footer setup on any of the test clients. When I added a footer to the mailcow IMAP account in MacOS Mail - then the domain wide footer ALSO attaches. But I could not replicate this in iOS nor in Thunderbird.

I’m not sure which logs I should check in order to see what’s happening.

It worked for me but I put the footer in both html and plain. I didn’t try it in just html.
