The machine is a vserver that was freshly installed before installing mailcow. I have been following the instruction. The only customization–apart from my own variables like hostname, domain etc.–I have done so far is enabling HTTPS redirects for port 80 and installing Nextcloud with the install script provided by mailcow.
Edit: I am trying to connect via StartTLS on port 587 with my username “emailuser@example.org” and the user’s password. Whether the authentication is encrypted or plain password doesn’t change the result. connecting via SSL/TLS on port 465 doesn’t change things.
Log Files
The Postfix logfiles don’t show any activity when I try to connect via smtp. Dovecot show the successful connection afterwards (claws reads new message via imap after every attempt of sending an email)
DNS resolving
comes back clear, all records are there
Routing table
The server is a vserver that is connected directly to the web.
