also i wanted to ask if the antivirus works only at the docker stack level or at the server level as i would have an antivirus installed on the server where there is docker and i would not want them to conflict.

    Depends on your needs. ClamAV is an alright, free and open-source solution, but if you’re on a enterprise level a paid antivirus might detect a bit more stuff with more recent signatures and more configuration options.

    The antivirus in mailcow only works inside the container and not on your host system. And I’d advise not to mess with that configuration to change that as it’ll probably just break things.
