I did a restore as instructed in the documentation.
- Installed mailcow on the new server, but didn’t login into the mailcow UI or changed anything.
- Updated the mailcow on the old server to the most current version.
- Then created a backup using the following command:
BACKUP_LOCATION=/var/backup /opt/mailcow-dockerized/helper-scripts/backup_and_restore.sh backup all
When this was done, I transferred the backup from the old server to the new one, there I started with the restore.
/opt/mailcow-dockerized/helper-scripts/backup_and_restore.sh restore
The script then asked for the path where the backups have been located. After that I was asked which things I want to restore; I pressed 0 to restore everything.
From there on the restore has been made. I can’t provide the logs at the moment since I already closed the SSH session, but the system may generated one in a text file itself? If so, can you tell me where I can find this, so I will paste it here.
Both servers run Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.
Best,
Jay
