I find it hard to understand every aspect of the project so far. It would be better if there was a clear and simple form to follow both to translate the “mailcow” docker instance, but also the docs.
Something like:
How to translate The MailCow project!
First of all you need a GitHub profile so you can fork the project to begin translating. If you don’t know how to do so you can just ask another translator.
The translation part consists of 3 parts:
Creating the desired language at: “data/web/lang/lang.LANGUAGECODE.json”
If you find it hard to find your language code the see https://www.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/php/code_list.php . MailCow uses the (ISO 639-1) Code standard
Edit the file “data/web/inc/vars.inc.php” and insert the correct (ISO 639-1) Code at line 84 in alphabetical order.
eg. $AVAILABLE_LANGUAGES = array('ca', 'cs', 'da', 'de', 'en', 'es', 'fi', 'fr', 'hu', 'it', 'ko', 'lv', 'nl', 'pl', 'pt', 'ro', 'ru', 'sk', 'sv', 'zh');
Edit the file “ ata/conf/dovecot/dovecot.conf” and insert code that makes dovecot understand your language.
eg. insert after line 376: mailbox "Skraldespand" {
special_use = \Trash
}
mailbox "Slettet mails" {
special_use = \Trash
}
mailbox "Arkiv" {
special_use = \Archive
}
mailbox "Arkiveret mails" {
special_use = \Archive
}
mailbox "Sendt" {
special_use = \Sent
}
mailbox "Sendte mails" {
special_use = \Sent
}
mailbox "Udkast" {
special_use = \Drafts
}
mailbox "Kladde" {
special_use = \Drafts
}
Make a PR “Pull Request” from your GitHub Panel.
If you don’t know how to do that, then follow the documentation at:
