Hi All.
Here’s an interesting issue that I am investigating:
You are likely aware that Microsoft’s NEW Outlook “proxies” IMAP connections via Microsoft Cloud;
this allows them to sync the likes of categories, contacts and address books across devices - not a bad idea to add to IMAP functionality (but likely not the best idea)!
I have one user who shares a single mailbox across up to 6 devices and recently switched to “New” from classic;
Intermittently, ALL devices will stop syncing and to rectify, they need to ‘repair’ the account by just re-entering the mailbox password.
I am assuming they are hitting a limit on connections at Microsoft Cloud and it is shutting them down.
Of course, I am checking to ensure my assumption is correct and it’s not a limit in dovecot-mailcow.
I note that the conf has: dovecot.conf:mail_max_userip_connections = 500
I can’t imagine they are getting anywhere near that amount and I’m not seeing any userlimit warnings in the Dovecot logs.
Would there be anywhere else in Mailcow to check they haven’t hit a limit on the server?
Anyone else experienced this yet?
Grüße aus Australien,
Klaus.
