Roundcube - unable to log in after upgrade

I have upgraded from Mailcow 2024.11b to the latest 2025.12a ?. All is fine, except that I cannot get Roundcube to log in. I get the following error: Password mismatch (SHA1 of given password: xxxxx).

I have gone through the Roundcube install document and double checked everything, and this is fine. I upgraded Roundcube after the upgrade using the upgrade guide from this page.

I gather by the error message that it is trying to use SHA1 instead of BF-CRYPT.

Any idea how I could troubleshoot/fix this?

Try to set in RC config

$config['imap_auth_type'] = 'PLAIN';
$config['smtp_auth_type'] = 'PLAIN';

Thank you for the response above. However, that did not solve the problem. The issue was caused by not fully reading and understanding the release notes of prior releases.
2025-03 was a breaking change in a number of ways (as stated by the readme). What I did not quite fully read and understand was the 2FA accounts must use app passwords for all email protocols. Since I use 2FA accounts, this was the problem.
What also threw me, is that I could log into SOGo with my mailbox password (under new UI).

Once I created an App Password, then I can log into Roundcube and also Thunderbird as well.
