dmarc report statistics

Some mail providers send dmarc reports about mail that is received by them from your domain(s). These come in zipped xml files and are not really for human consumption (but can be parsed if pressed, of course).

At work we have a tool which can parse and present the dmarc reports, the source is liuch/dmarc-srg

Is there something like this for mailcow, or should I run this on a separate server? I think it would be nice if mailcow could integrate this kind of information in the UI of the admin somehow…

I sporadically read the DMARC reports.
As long as it says “passed” everywhere, I personally don’t care about the rest of the content. .😅😅

yes it gets boring really quickly if every report looks the same ;-)

So a tool to make a bad report stand out helps when you want to use the information to fix issues without spending a lot of time checking the reports. It’s impossible to know if your mail gets discarded based on a bad dkim/dmarc, because there’s no visible response (generally). The dmarc report does usually get sent.
Although my experience with microsoft is that they just discard e-mails from my mailhost, trying to get off their blocklist is a pain 🙁

Personally, I automatically send my DMARC reports to a free provider (free for one domain, but I use it with four domains and it still works for free). Mailhardener handles all the DMARC reports for all my domains: https://www.mailhardener.com. Give it a try; it might be right for you.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I like to keep things in my own hands as much as possible, which is why I run mailcow…
