Hi, folks.
I run a mailcow server for our home domain, which has several aliases. A couple of years ago, my wife started her own company, and I simply added her domain and its own aliases as aliases of our primary domain. That worked fine while she and I were the only people using that domain.
However, her company has grown and we now have employees who need their own email address in the company domain. I have been setting them up with accounts in the shared domain, but this is less than ideal - I want their primary address and login ID to be the primary company domain, to restrict them to using only the company domain and its aliases, and ultimately to be able to hand over administration of that domain.
So I want to split these accounts out into a separate domain - something I really should have done in the first place. My question is, how?
I can’t just create a new domain with the primary company address, because that’s currently set up as an alias of the primary domain. Can I set up a “placeholder” domain, clone the company accounts over to it, and then somehow rename it as the primary company domain, or is there some better way to do this?
Any and all suggestions welcomed. Thanks in advance.
Jon.
