Adding account in Thunderbird is stuck

Hello,

can someone try to add mail account into Thunderbird? They change this process since I last use it and now i got it stuck and can’t add account.

I would like to know if my setup is wrong or Thunderbird is buggy? Currently using 143.0.1 (64-bit) MC is current 2025-09b.

Happend to me as well while trying to add an account which has another subdomain than my mailserver.

I could resolve it by changing the process of obtaining the credentials to “legacy”. You can do that somewhere in the Thunderbird Options (The symbol with 3 horizontal bars on top right and than “Tools” i guess in English).

Cant post a screenshot right now, just from some youtube Video. Maybe someone else can help out. Otherwise i will add it later to this post.

This is bummer, just got call Outlook have some problems too :-(

So it was actually in normal “Settings” Menu und “General”.

For me the “Createa ccounts in the new Account Hub” was already checked after installing Thunderbird. After unchecking it, i had no more Problems fetching the data online via autoconfig.
