Custom container names

I am trying to deploy mailcow on my server using container_name directives under each service in the compose file to have cleaner names (this is a server running many services which all use the format service_container). Running docker compose up results in this error coming from the php-fpm container:

Could not get mysql-mailcow container id... trying again

How do I tell this and other components to use the container names I configured?

Unless you fork MC, you can not do this,..

Your error is from this line, as you see there is “hard coded” name there,…

Yeah, won’t work. Container names are hardcoded in so many places that it won’t work OOTB. Also not supported nor update-proof.

Are there any plans to change this? It’s not an absolute dealbreaker but still annoying
