Alpine Linux still supported ?

Hello everybody

I am self-hosting a mailcow instance running on Debian 12. It would seem that my /boot partition is too small to upgrade in-place to Debian 13. But if I have to reinstall an OS from scratch, I’d rather use Alpine Linux than Debian. I see Alpine mentioned in the docs, and I have no problems to install the prerequisites.

My questions therefore are

are there no plans to drop Alpine support in the near future?
is the migration via cold_standby.sh also good to migrate to a Alpine target?

I would always choose Debian Netinst over Alpine, because it is more widely adopted and also has a very small footprint.

esackbauer I get that, and that’s why it is on Debian now. But it’s the last Debian instance I use and I am much more proficient in Alpine Linux. Hence my questions.

As per docs you only have limited compatibility, so you will end up on your own with some problems.
You could approach the devs for the roadmap regarding mailcow on Alpine, I have no information on that.
