Error 504 in admin pages

Hello,
For several years now, I haven’t been able to access the pages under the “System > Configuration” tab, and I need to do so now.

When I try to access it, the phpfpm container rapidly increases its RAM consumption (at least 4 GB).

If I recall correctly, this started after I uploaded a logo there (it’s been a long time).
I haven’t dared to open an issue on GitHub because I don’t know if it’s on my end, and I don’t want to mess things up.

I’ve tried it both through my reverse proxy and without it; the result is the same (except that the 504 error doesn’t trigger, and it just keeps loading indefinitely).

8 vCore/8 GB RAM

Logs: There are no logs indicating the request or errors.

Which logs did you check? Nginx container logs? phpfpm container logs?
Did you try monitoring with top or htop what process exactly consumes memory and CPU at that time?
This is basic linux troubleshooting…

On which mailcow version are you?

esackbauer I checked the logs for the nginx, php-fpm, and mysql containers. There’s nothing in them related to the request.
I also checked the processes in htop, and the problematic one is php-fpm: pool web-worker. Restarting the php-fpm container stops it (obviously).
I apologize if I wasn’t clear enough in my message. Given your response, I don’t think it was welcome for me to share my problem. I’ll try again on my own, and if I still can’t find anything, I’ll give up on Mailcow.

ETNyx For months the default logo returned; moreover, I can access the admin panel and mailbox configuration without any issues, but this specific page is problematic, so I don’t think it’s related to a image file

If you think those images are source of your problem, did you tried to move them somewhere else? I would guess original logos will be displayed as fallback or simply 404 should occure. You can always move those images back if something broke right?

I am not used to posting on forums because I always try my best to solve everything by myself without bothering others, as I do not want to disturb people with the idiot that I am. It’s just PHP so i would open related script end about a half add exit if a bug occurs you know what you know what is wrong is in first half, repeat until you will find cause,… You do not need any compiling just refresh browser,… maybe than we will know more,…

It’s seems like these lines are the faulty ones:
'logo_specs' => customize('get', 'main_logo_specs'), 'logo_dark_specs' => customize('get', 'main_logo_dark_specs'),
When I just put them, the server go crazy… but I don’t know what to do to fix them, do you have any idea ?
I see it belongs to logos, but I can’t find where they are stored…

Any chance you have those image available i could try to debug this?

Also you could try to upload new images, maybe try those from https://demo.mailcow.email/ ?

He can’t, as the configuration page freezes as soon as he opens it.
The logo is stored base64 encoded somewhere, but I didn’t find out where… I thought it must be stored in the database somewhere, but I didn’t find it yet.
At first I looked for the file itself but didn’t find it

I saw (before posting a post here) this issue mailcow/mailcow-dockerized6352 (which was deserted), and I’m wondering if i canceled the upload when I did it, because the story seems to be the same

And I tried to dump the database, but i didn’t found something interesting

password is in your .env under REDISPASS You can try spin up copy or test a try to overwrite those values using SET command

@[deleted] you can delete the logos this way:

Get the Redis database password:

cd /opt/mailcow-dockerized
grep REDISPASS mailcow.conf

docker compose exec redis-mailcow redis-cli

Authenticate to Redis with the password from above and set empty keys:

127.0.0.1:6379> AUTH **** <--- PASSWORD FROM ABOVE
OK
127.0.0.1:6379> set MAIN_LOGO ""
OK
127.0.0.1:6379> set MAIN_LOGO_DARK ""
OK

After this, the logos will be reset to the mailcow default
