Not necessary, it’s totally fine the way it is. You don’t need to change anything (for me, at least :-)). The web frontends I could probably handle, but that would still not be worth it since I could only “profit” from completely arbitrary usernames. In that case I could have:
- migrated SOGo more easily (renaming accounts between backup and restore seems to be a bit of a problem)
- kept client configurations
- wouldn’t have to give my users new usernames (currently their username often is not related to their email address at all)
But really, this would only have been the icing on the cake. I will figure out how to migrate the SOGo data (which is the main part) and the users will be told that the clients need to be reconfigured.
I just wanted to make sure I don’t do all of this “for nothing” if it could have been avoided easily. Since this is not the case, I will adjust. Thanks again for your kindness 😃
