Hi mailcow team and community,
I noticed in the official documentation that Rocky Linux 9 and Alma Linux 8/9 are listed as supported and tested, but Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9.x is not mentioned—even though Rocky and Alma are direct RHEL clones.
I realize this isn’t a support request, but more of a feedback/clarification topic:
Is there a specific reason RHEL isn’t listed as supported, or is it just an oversight?
Would the mailcow team consider RHEL 9.x to be “supported in practice,” or is it intentionally left out?
Has anyone in the community run mailcow on “real” RHEL 9.x and can share their experience, especially regarding SELinux and container security?
I’m running mailcow on RHEL 9.5 and have noticed some stricter SELinux behavior compared to what others report on Rocky/Alma.
If RHEL is intentionally not supported, it would be helpful to mention this explicitly in the docs, since many users might assume it is, given the support for the clones.
Thanks for all your work on mailcow, and for any clarification you can provide!
Best,
Paul
