I can login as admin using the /admin prefix. But whenever I go to Apps/Webmail, I get redirected to the mailcow UI. Does this mean that now the admin lost his mailbox? Because I cannot login as admin without the /admin prefix. No chance to get to SoGo as admin?

BTW, in the release notes it says that “Admins can choose whether a user should land after successfull authentication”. Where do I find this option?

Thanks, José

    This can be configured in mailcow.conf

    # Allow admins to log into SOGo as email user (without any password)
    ALLOW_ADMIN_EMAIL_LOGIN=n

    the admin can cofigure the behaviour in the mailbox specific settings

    @DaRon Thank you for the two hints!

    Concerning the first one, what ALLOW_ADMIN_EMAIL_LOGIN=y does is to give immediate access to other users’ mailboxes. It is not what I meant.

    I thought the admin account has a mailbox too. And I wanted to get access to it via SoGo through the upper-right menu App->Webmail. But this menu item redirects back to the admin dashboard.
    Thus, is it right that the admin doesn’t have any mailbox at all? It isn’t listed under the Mailboxes tab anyway.
    Thank you, José

      Orkan Well, a normal admin user doesn’t have any domain assigned. The default admin is just “admin”, so what exactly should his mailbox look like? 🙂

      And it’s just the Mailcow UI admin user, so why should it have a mailbox in the first place?

      @DocFraggle Thank you for the confirmation. It makes sense that the default admin has no mailbox.
      As a suggestion: since the menu item App->Webmail might be misleading, wouldn’t it be better to hide it for the admin account?

      Many thanks to this community. mailcow is a great suite all based on docker. It facilitated a smooth migration from Exchange 2013 to an open-source solution in my homelab.
