Hi everyone,

I’m having a really frustrating issue with my mailcow installation. I’ve tried reinstalling it multiple times (around 23 times!), deleting all volumes, messing with MySQL, and even using scripts to generate new passwords. I’ve also completely removed all Docker volumes, networks, and even rebooted the entire server.

Despite all this, I still can’t seem to get it working. The SOGo web link button isn’t appearing at the bottom of the page (which I know is a sign something’s wrong), and I can’t log in with either the default admin password ‘moohoo’ or my old password.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have any ideas on what might be going wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I’m completely at my wit’s end with this update. Everything was working perfectly before – I could log into the admin panel, my mailbox, and SOGo was running smoothly. But now, after the update, nothing works. I can access the admin panel, but I can’t connect to my mailbox, and the SOGo website won’t load.

I don’t understand why a perfectly functioning system had to be broken. I tried rolling back to the legacy branch with ./update.sh –legacy, but that didn’t work either. And when I do a fresh install of Mailcow, the SOGo website just won’t load at all.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing these problems? I’ve been trying to fix this for hours, but nothing seems to help. It’s incredibly frustrating that something as basic as email is just not working.

With 2025-03 we split up the logins. As an admin you need to use /admin instead now.

A normal user needs to login under / (like before). However the login is directly through mailcow ui, not sogo anymore as you’ll be redirected to sogo now.

but could you explain somehow why when I add a mailbox and domain, I can’t connect with an external mail program? Everything used to work smoothly, but now neither the new nor the old setup works… is it necessary to troll like this?

Restore a backup from before today’s update and try again, maybe “deleting all volumes, messing with MySQL” damaged it more

The reason everything was deleted is that I couldn’t log in as admin through the usual method due to some disruptive actions. It later turned out that there’s an admin interface at /admin, which I wasn’t aware of. Since then, the mail service has been completely non-functional. The new system seems to have a total shit configuration with Dovecot and MySQL. I’ve tried reinstalling it about 50 times, and it still doesn’t work. I can log in to the admin panel, add domains and mailboxes, but I can’t connect to them with any external mail program.

How is it possible to put together such a crappy new configuration? Nothing works properly. This whole day of mine has been ruined. Why do you always have to complicate something that already worked fine?

From the 2025-03 release notes:

Direct SOGo login is now disabled. All unauthenticated requests to /SOGo will be redirected to /.
Users must use the mailcow login.

I guess its not allowed to use such URLs directly anymore.

You are not forced to use the new config. Restore your backup and switch to the legacy branch:

no backup.. everything is deleted because /admin login.. whatever i found the problem.. it was everything is off with SoGo config.. and work.. stupid noob new configs..
