Hi,
On cPanel for example we have the option to set the email server as “Remote Mail Exchanger” useful for cases where email is hosted outside cPanel.
Does Mailcow allows this feature? The use case is for domains where I use Mailcow just as a SMTP relay to send apps transactional emails. As mostly of my usecase is this, I could just set Mailcow to never deliver emails locally. That would be perfect, since Mailcow could act as my own “SMTP Relay for Apps”
On these cases, if I use the email info@mydomain.com as Sender all emails will be delivered local in Mailcow instead of the external/correct MX server. So setting up “Remote Mail Exchanger” instead of “Local Mail Exchanger” would solve my problem.
Thanks
cPanel Options as Example:
- Local Mail Exchanger — The lowest numbered mail exchanger points to an Internet Protocol (IP) address on this server.
- Backup Mail Exchanger — The lowest numbered mail exchanger points to an IP address not on this server.
- Remote Mail Exchanger — No mail exchangers point to an IP address on this server.
