Setting up SRV record in Porkbun

So my email is actually working, but I noticed that when I go back and check the dns records through mail cow, the SRV record shows Target 0. It doesn’t pick up the information that is on porkbun. I just wanted to see if anyone else is using porkbun and get the SRV record to be seen by mail cow. Thanks

I am running on Porkbun with no problems. Make sure that your service records are set up properly:
https://docs.mailcow.email/getstarted/prerequisite-dns/#the-advanced-dns-configuration
In Porkbun under “answer/value” you have to put e.g. 1 443 mail.yourhostname.com where 443 is the port number for the service you configure.
Priority is zero.

esackbauer Thanks very much, I do have mine setup in this way, but just recently changed the priority to 0. Will have to check after it updates.

esackbauer So I tried making changes, but still not showing the correct the information.
In porkbun I have
autodiscover.tcp weight port target (1 443 mail.example.com) 600 0

Is there anything that I’m missing?

What would be the correct information? How shall I know if you do not tell us your mail domain?

These are no underscores in the subdomain. It should look like this:

_autodiscover._tcp

esackbauer When I click on “dns” it just suppose to show " mail.example.com 443, but all it shows is target 0

Not sure then. I had a look at the screenshots on pokebun.com, and I’d say you have to enter it as follows

Type: SRV
Host: _autodiscover._tcp
Answer: 1 443 mail.example.com
TTL: 600
Priority: 0

mlcwuser Yep, I have the entered. However it makes me put in weight port target and then in “(1 443 mail.example.com)”

Crazy, it just allowed me to take out weight, port, and target and just save 1 443 mail.example.com. Sigh…

Dvalin21 I don’t use porkbun.com, and I only found screenshots for A records in their docs. Are there separrate input fileds for weight and port when creating an SRV record? If so, you probably shouldn’t add them in the answer field.

Or, maybe post a screenshot here.
