Mailcow autodiscover thunderbird

Hi all,

In thunderbirth the autodiscovery for imap email is working.

However the autodiscovery for the carddav and caldav is not working.

Anyone having the same problems?

What exactly is not working (error messages or SOGO/nginx logs) and which version of Thunderbird? Mobile? Windows? Linux?
Did you double check the correct DNS entries? Did you wait for them to propagate? For both IPv4 and IPv6 if you have IPv6 addresses?
Do you have a reverse proxy? if yes, is it using the correct configuration as per mailcow documentation?

Hi I use the desktopversion of thunderbird in debain 12 bookworm. The dns entries are correct.

autoconfig.domain.nl
autodiscover.domain.nl

Thunderbird does autodiscover for the mail settings. but not for the cardav and caldav service. it works when i set this up manualy. But it would be great if this works automatic.

i cant find no errors in the logs.

I don’t think so. _caldavs._tcp.ckruijntjens.nl there is no SRV record.

do i need to set these srv dns names in my public dns?

Mailcow is behind a reverse proxyserver. Everything regarding the proxyserver is setup as mailcow advices

Of course. All DNS as per documentation is public. Because the clients connect via internet.
And not only the SRV records, but also the TXT records.

I just created all the records. il have to wait till all dns servers are populated. Will try later this evening to see if this was the problem.

The records are all populated. However it still wont detect the cal or cardav.

The records are still not correct. Documentation says SRV records must point to the mailcow hostname, not your mail domain!

How can it point to my hostname. this would mean it wont be resolvable for the net?
