Hey everyone, I've been experiencing an issue with my calendar invites and would appreciate some advice. When I send invites to users within the same domain, everything works perfectly. I can see who's attending, and attendees can easily accept or decline the invitation. However, things don't go as smoothly when I: 1. Invite people via an alias (e.g., all@mydomain.com) 2. Invite someone outside of the domain In these cases, the recipients only receive an email with an .ics attachment, and there is no easy way to accept decline. Also i don't see who's attending. Is this expected behavior, or is there some configuration I might have missed? Thanks in advance for your help!

Problems with sogo, aliases and calender invites

Hey everyone,

I’ve been experiencing an issue with my calendar invites and would appreciate some advice. When I send invites to users within the same domain, everything works perfectly. I can see who’s attending, and attendees can easily accept or decline the invitation.

However, things don’t go as smoothly when I:

Invite people via an alias (e.g., all@mydomain.com)
Invite someone outside of the domain

In these cases, the recipients only receive an email with an .ics attachment, and there is no easy way to accept decline. Also i don’t see who’s attending. Is this expected behavior, or is there some configuration I might have missed?

I just tested this with an outlook.com user, and it seems it happens to me only if the appointments start in the past (which might be the case if you send a recurring meeting which started in the past).
Otherwise the outlook.com recipient can answer right from the invite

okay what programm are you using? in sogo web i cant enter any other email but people from my domain. in apple calender it does work, but i dont get invites at all.

I created the appointments with SOGo. I can enter recipients which are not in the domain.

~~okay then its gotta be an configuration thing. i mean i did not change anything from the default installation. do you know what setting this might be?~~

okay i tested it with my gmail adress, and it works. but i still can’t send invites to an alias.

To an alias of a mailcow mailbox? I just tested it, and if I send it from SOGo I can enter the alias address, and it gets automatically corrected to the mailbox address when the invite is sent.
Of course that might not work if the alias is a catchall address.
