mail_crypt_save_version does not work

Dear all, I want to avoid encryption of mailboxes that seems to be default mailcow behaviour, so I tried to put mail_crypt_save_version = 0 in data/conf/dovecot/dovecot.conf and restart the server, but seems that new emails are still encrypted. Any fix for this?

However might be that one of the next update break or the backup scripts not work properly…
Mailcow is not meant to be run unencrypted. Why do you want this?

esackbauer dear I want to check emails from my cli with Mutt but everything Is encrypted, any alternatives?

Use IMAP as with every other mail client.

heavygale if I use imap though cli like with doveadm and I open and email in the cli, then It Will marked as read to the final user too. I need tò inspect emails from a sysadmin pov.

Use BCC maps for that.
Or you can impersonate as a specific user and with SOGo you can read them, and set them as unread after you have read them.
