Goodday.

Having some troubles with sending mail to my server. The error displayed by mail client is:

'550 5.1.1 <test1@mydomain.com>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown'

  1. That’s the whole error message, there is nothing after the word “unknown”, On the other hands all the errors i find in google had some more clarifications.
  2. test1@mydomain.com actually exists and I can successfully send and receive the mails from gmail and other mydomain.com mailboxes. Nevertheless, while sending mail from some other random server - it reports the error shown above.

any ideas where to start looking at? Thanks

look at your postfix and rspamd logs. At least a connection should be visible from the sending server.

Have something to say?

Seems it was a my specific local problem. It seems that the sender-server i was using accidentally had an alias set up for receiver-server. Hence, sender thought it was a receiver and couldn’t find the target user in local data and was showing this error. Though i’m not 100% sure it was the case, since i don’t own that sender-server, but all the clues were pointing to this case.
