Hi All,

I have a working install of mailcow and am so far very happy with it, just one last little things to figure out - when I try and add my test account to Outlook the wizard fails as it can’t detect the IMAP settings. If I add the details using manual setup the mailbox works fine, however I would like to make adding an account to Outlook and other email clients as easy as possible so is there a way to edit the auto conf/discover to make it work?

you should look for log files and event log at the client for detailed error messages.

Additionally, it looks like you are trying to add the mail account from within Outlook, That doesn’t work very well unfortunately, add it through the Windows control panel

Control Panel -> Mail (Microsoft Outlook) (32 Bit) -> Email Accounts -> New –> Manual configuration -> Exchange ActiveSync

EDIT: that’s if you want to use ActiveSync, of course

Thanks folks, it works if I choose advanced setup and manually set the IMAP port to 993 and select TLS encryption, the Microsoft test fails the certificate when I run it using the addon domain mail.nmo.co.uk but it passes if I use the server name mail.saqbox.co.uk

Another thing is that Microsoft is switching off anything with “Standard Authentication”.
Exchange Online and I guess Outlook will not support this anymore or already, they will force you to use OAuth. Then you are out of luck or need to find an older setup (like in the good old control panel)

Thanks, yeah i noticed the message on the Microsoft site, it works ok as I said if you select advanced and correct the IMAP settings, shame it doesn’t add this properly but then I guess I can just provide additional set up info if needed.
