Mailcow SOGO Subdomain

Hey,

i know it was a topic quite often here. But i need help with that. I followed the instructions of the documentation and simply changed the 2 lines that are highlighted. I added and signed the certificate via mailcow.conf before and created the webmai.conf in the nginx folder after it. But it doesn’t work. webmail.mydomain.com just shows me the admin panel as usually.

And in this line:
return 301 https://CHANGE_TO_MAILCOW_HOSTNAME/SOGo;
there is your mail server address with /SOGo added?
Check your nginx logs.

Why do you have a redirect? and why /web?
THe examples and your first posts mention webmail.mydomain.tld, not mail.mydomain.tld/web

esackbauer because i wanted to make sure that every request uses https. But even if i remove / deactivate the redirect.conf the webmail.conf doesn’t work nevertheless

Did you add ADDITIONAL_SAN=webmail.example.org to mailcow.conf?

esackbauer yes, it already works and the certificate is valid. But the webmail.domain.de just directs me to the normal login page just as mail.domain.de and not to sogo.

Jxstin1337 did you restart NGINX after you changed the conf files?

Other than that I don’t have any ideas, since I’m not an NGINX expert, and while I’m pretty sure it’s somehow possible to combine both the HTTPS and the subdomain redirect, I didn’t bother trying it, and I just added a bookmark to my browser toolbar. I mean who wants to type URLs anyways, and besides of that mail.domain.tld/sogo is only two characters longer than webmail.domain.tld 😉

mlcwuser yeeah, i get what i mean but it’s better for working with customers and partners if you can say that settings can be done at mail.domain.tld and the inbox is located at webmail.domain.tld

Nice, I didn’t know about this! I hate that it defaults to the admin login. Will try it out! 😃
