Hello all,
I have been testing mailcow to see if it is a suitable candidate to migrate my existing postfix+dovecot+mysql mail server to and I have been enjoying it. I have conducted my testing now, however there are a few configuration options I do not understand and am not sure if I should touch when implementing in my production environment.
I would also be happy with answers such as - if you don’t know what it is don’t touch it assuming there is a sane reasoning behind such advice.
IP Check - Should I use this option? If I understand correctly it offloads the ip check from my container to mailcow servers? Does that help with resource and bandwith consumption on the container side?
Filters && Global Filter Maps - What are those? Do I need to make changes to them or not?
TLS Policies - In my old server I had a tls policy database that defined which TLS encryption to use for foreign mail and this was set to dane. Is there a need to implement that policy in mailcow or there is another way to configure this?
Webmail and Sogo - I don’t really intend to use the webmail interface as I access mail from local clients. Is there a way to disable both of these in favor of saving some resources?
Thanks!
