`The SOGo webmail is above all an interface, which requires an integration carried out by specialists. It is these additional services that Alinto offers from May 2022. At the end, two products are available:

SOGo webmail: free download of version 5 of SOGo, Maintenance integration and development in Option with a commercial offer.
SOGomail by Alinto: secure mail server for professional organisations looking for a recognised European alternative`

The owner of the sogo suite has recently changed and announced that they will be selling “premium” versions of the software. In my experience this usually means the open source version will be left to stagnate.

What are the contingency plans for mailcow should Alinto (the new owners) decide to stop providing a free version?

My opinion is mailcow should start offering an alternative email option with my preferred option being roundcube given that its latest version looks much more modern, has more features and is actively maintained.

I see that the owner changed.. but I am not finding references to the “premium” versions problem. May you please offer more specific references to that particular conversation?
