Hi there,

I use cloud spam filtering which means my domain have an mx record pointing to an external service which scan and filter spam messages. In this case what records i need to add in mail cow to use the mail. I host multiple hotel clients emails is the mailcow a reliable option when comparing to plesk or ispconfig for mail hosting?

thanks

If you use Mailcow, you (actually) don’t need the extra service. Spam detection/filtering works very well with Mailcow.
If you want to keep the external service, you don’t need to change the MX record, as the mails should still be delivered to the provider. But you will have to change the provider’s details to get the mails delivered to the new server.

    Have something to say?

    Hi MaxDau

I use external service as this way i can hide my mail server and show an mx record of another provider. and then usually use firewall to only accept incoming emails from that external provider.

What subdomains i need to add to recieve and send emails in mailcow when using a 3rd part spam filter means an mx record to something like spamtitan.com etc.

    Thanks
