Hello, I have just set up Mailcow on a VPS that I have with one of my domains but now want to also want to migrate a legacy mail domain email that I have had with Google for years since they had free business accounts many years ago and had kept them free for a long time, but now want to start charging. Because of this, I decided to take the leap and set up my own email server with Mailcow.
Now, if I understand correctly, then if I have a domain set up with Mailcow, using firstdomain.com (for example) to the physical VPS server which everything seems to work including IMAP, POP3, etc. and now want to migrate my Google account over then do I set up a new domain, called seconddomain.com (for example and assuming that my Google domain is named seconddomain.com for this discussion) and then change my DNS for seconddomain.com on Godaddy as the provider?
Or, do I need to migrate all of the data from the Google seconddomain.com via IMAP onto my Mailcow firstdomain.com to store until the seconddomain.com has been removed from Google and set up on my Mailcow?
I a bit confused about the process of migrating an existing domain to Mailcow from Google so an advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
