Hello all. I would be grateful for any help that I can get as I am going around in circles.

I have installed a test environment of mailcow with a view to moving my mailserver onto this - but I cannot get it to work (as per the subject)

Clean Ubuntu 20.04.3 install
fully updated prior to install
installed as sudo -i to get full root access
I have successfully got admin access, I can set up a mailbox quite OK - and I remove POP3 (I only want to allow IMAP and SMTP through - ports 143 and 587, though I haven’t changed any such settings - just assumed these defaults)

As this is a test install I didn’t set up a full public DNS - I am not letting the public into network through this machine until I have proven it works, so it hasn’t set up a lets encrypt certificate. I do however have a wildcard cert I could use (but haven’t) if that is why SOGo says it can’t reach any mailbox.

No special settings or adaptations - just everything as per defaults other than losing POP3.

When I try to open SOGo I get a ‘no mailbox selected’ message.

I read about a possible dovecoat error - but I don’t have a dovecoat instance outside of mailcow installed.

I have tried rebooting the server, restarting docker, increasing RAM (up to 12 Gb and using up to 6 cpu cores) all to no avail. It is sitting on the latest VMware ESXi release so I was able to play with increasing the RAM and cpu count easily. I am clearly missing something but no idea what.

I would be grateful for any ideas or logs to go check that might help.

Thank you for your patience … I am entirely new to mailcow and docker.

PS - looking at the support pages, I am not sure if a support contract would cover this. Can anyone advise on this too?
