Thunderbird caldav/carddav autoconfigure behind httpproxy

Hi all,

I am new user of mailcow !
I use Thunderbird as a mail client on desktop.

Since Thunderbird 91.x, carddav and caldav can be detected and be configured automaticaly.
Try with my server in direct LAN connection, that’s works (expection on the certicate because my mailcow don’t have a public IP).

But when I try throught the http proxy I use, it detect IMAP/SMTP etc, but don’t detect caldav/carddav.
My proxy use https only, try to redirect http also, not better still not detect automaticaly the cardav caldav.

If I manually and carddav and caldav URL after the autoconfigure process, I have access to it and that’s works.

It’s just a autodetection issue, but want to fix it for the users, is easyier that explain how to configure the calendar and addressbook manualy !

Does someone known how thunderbird detect carddav/caldav link ?

Did you set the autoconfig DNS-entry for the domain?

No I don’t, I will try today to move forward. But how can explain that it autodetect correctly on my LAN ? With 192.168.0.3 that are not on my DNS entry :-)

Can’t answer that,… maybe Thunderbird does some other clever auto configuration magic in a LAN,…

I test it today, with DNS-entry that’s works !

But sure, there are two different autoconfiguration, I explain :

On my LAN IP, without DNS entry, Thunderbird autodetect and autoconnect the carddav and caldav
On my domain name, with DNS entry, Thunderbird autodetect and ask you to connect to the carddav and caldav servers

Thanks for this workaround, it’s enought easy for the users, they only have to click three time on connect (2 carddav, 1 caldav) and the end of autoconfigure process.

But sure Thunderbird have some other clever/magic autodetection process than DNS !

For me, Thanks is solved !
