ok to update Docker via apt or not?

So I setup mailcow about a month ago, and have updated once since then (a few days ago). But now when I login to my server (running Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS (GNU/Linux 5.4.0-89-generic x86_64)), I have a notice about system updates that can be applied and among these are docker-ce-cli, docker-ce-rootless-extras, docker-ce, and docker-scan-plugin. Reading through the docs they seem to discourage distro related docker installs, so I am not sure what to do here. Should I ignore them and let the update.sh script take care of everything, or should I install them?

If you followed the installation docs, you set the official Docker stable channel as APT source and are not using the Ubuntu version anymore.

I updated Docker via APT several time without issues. I don’t think the update.sh script takes care of Docker itself.

accolon Indeed, only docker-compose will be updated via the update script

I did follow the install instructions on that page, so I guess I am safe to run apt upgrade. Thanks!
